New Blog!

Jack has started his own blog Musings On Dice and after some thought, I have decided to shift my posting to my own blog instead of dominating this blog which is so clearly meant for the both of us, just look at the name.  With this in mind, I will be moving my posting to a new set up: DNA and Dessert.  We will be keeping this blog alive as a way to document our couple-y adventures while we use our separate ones for our individual thoughts and such.  Hope you follow all three!

Have a great Hump Day Wednesday!

ITS DONE!!!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to my baby:

I cannot believe its finally turned in.  It is 130 pages all told and I am beyond proud of it.  My world is so much brighter and now all I have left to do is wait to graduate on the 23rd!!!

In other news, I ran to and from the bank today, a total of 2.16 miles, and then came home to indulge in some post-run snackage: peanut butter stuffed dates with butterscotch chips.  The key to the best dates ever is to microwave them for 15 seconds.  I am in love.  (P.S. Picture is taken from Sweet Tooth Runner who is also rightfully obsessed with these bites of awesomeness!)

Now I am off to take a shower, get dressed, prep food for my 8 hour shift at work, hit up the post office to mail a book (PaperBackSwap is the bomb when it comes to used books!), and finally, grab a celebration Chinese takeout lunch outside to enjoy the weather with Jack before work.  I think its going to be a good, good day.  Hope yours is just as lovely!

And We're Back...

Its been a while and a ton has happened.  I'm in the finally editing stage of finishing my creative project so I can graduate for a second time from BSU on July 23rd.  I'll have a Masters in Bioethics.  Pretty pumped, not to mention that I actually love my creative project this time around.  My undergraduate thesis and I had issues so its nice to like what I'm writing this year.  One other perk of editing with my particular mentor: paid lunches every day.  We had sushi yesterday and I'm fairly sure I dreamt about it last night.  It was so good, and I'm not a sushi person, so that's saying something!

In other academic news, Jack is going to Purdue for his Ph.D. in high energy theoretical physics.  I am so proud of him.  He got his own one bedroom apartment and has become quite the kitchen master.  You should try his protein pancakes after a workout, they're awesome.  In addition, he is starting his own blog.  He wants to use it as a way to do bits of authorship here and there when he feels the urge strike.  It'll be great.  I just know it.

I am now an official IUPUI Genetic Counseling Program Class of 2013 student.  I couldn't be happier.  I am so ready to start my two year schooling journey to become a genetic counselor.  This is all I have wanted for as long as I can remember now and not getting admitted last year was hard.  Though I will say, this year's joy has been more than worth the wait.  I have a new apartment in Indianapolis that I'm moving into on the 30th of this month and its on the 10th floor.  It has a perfect view of the city and my school and its about 1.5 miles from IUPUI.  I have also "met" my class on facebook and they all seem super excited and just as amped about these coming two years as I am.  We are ready for this.  Can't wait!

NEWS FLASH: I am a runner now!  On June 29th I ran my first ever 3.0 miler and I was ecstatic!  My best friend and I are running a 5K, a first for both of us, on August 13th.  Its ICADV's Race Away From Domestic Violence.  We're pretty sure we're going to do brunch in the city afterwards... We are such aspiring foodies!  I'll update about the race as we continue to train and then actually run it.

Now its off to edit.  More later if I get a chance.  Wish me luck.  We're doing the ethics section of my paper today...
